X, formerly known as Twitter, is getting video and audio calls support
First news burst, more to come..
Elon Musk announced just a moment ago that the X is getting support for audio and video calls. Support will be rolled out to the supported platforms iOS, Android, macOS and PC.
The only other bit of information that Musk revealed in the post is that users won’t need to verify a phone number or have a phone number to use the functionality.
Additional information about the planned feature is missing. Musk did not reveal when X plans to launch it, whether it is going to become available for all users, or information about the technology that X will use.
A likely candidate from the technological site is WebRTC, which is widely supported already and used by lots of services on the Internet for audio and video calling functionality.
